Normal Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Mariner and 2006 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The electric power charge/assist gauge indicates the amount of the electric power to and from the traction battery. The gauge provides the vehicle hybrid electric system current working status. This gauge consists of the charge and assist ranges. The scale ranges from maximum charge power to 0 power and from 0 power to maximum assist/boost power. If the pointer remains in the middle point of the gauge, it indicates no electric charge and no assist. The input to the gauge is a message received from the traction battery control module (TBCM) over the communication network.
