Removal and Installation

- Position the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position and remove the ignition key.
- Rotate the steering wheel until the steering column locks into position.
- De-power the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- Open the cover on the underside of the steering wheel.
- Remove the steering wheel pinion bolt.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
- Remove the steering wheel.
- Position the steering wheel rearward.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Re-power the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
