Removal and Installation

  1. Position the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position and remove the ignition key.
    • Rotate the steering wheel until the steering column locks into position.
  2. De-power the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
  3. Open the cover on the underside of the steering wheel.
  4. Remove the steering wheel pinion bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
  5. Remove the steering wheel.
    1. Position the steering wheel rearward.
    2. Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.

  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
