Test E: No Power In Start Position
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect ignition switch harness connector C250. Measure voltage between ground and ignition switch harness connector C250 terminal B4 (Light Green/Violet wire). See Figure. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Light Green/Violet wire between battery junction box and ignition switch.
- Test ignition switch. See IGNITION SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If ignition switch is faulty, replace ignition switch and retest system. See IGNITION SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If ignition switch is okay, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire between ignition switch and central junction box. See POWER DISTRIBUTION in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
