Power Transfer Unit (PTU) - Manual Transaxle

- Install a new O-ring seal.
- Position the power transfer unit (PTU) to the transaxle.
- Install the front stud.
- Install the 2 PTU-to-transaxle nuts.
- Install the 2 PTU-to-transaxle bolts.
- Install the crossmember brace and the 4 bolts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Install the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT .
- Fill the transaxle. For additional information, refer to TRANSAXLE DRAINING AND FILLING in Section 308-03.
CAUTION:
The O-ring must be correctly installed before mating the power transfer unit (PTU) to the manual transaxle. Failure to correctly install the O-ring may cause the O-ring to be damaged, resulting in a transaxle fluid leak.
