Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Keypad
The RKE keypad, located on the driver door, provides a method for the customer to access the vehicle or luggage compartment without a key or RKE transmitter. The RKE keypad feature:
- locks all doors.
- unlocks only the driver door.
- unlocks all doors.
- programs/erases the customer key code.
- enables/disables autolocking and auto-unlocking.
- does not lock the doors if the driver door is open.
- arms/disarms the perimeter alarm
- releases the luggage compartment lid latch by entering the keypad code plus 5/6 button
The RKE keypad feature operates independently of key position status, vehicle speed, or transmission position. When an RKE keypad button is pressed, the RKE keypad buttons illuminate to provide better visibility. If LOCK ALL DOORS is entered or 5 seconds have elapsed since the last button press, the illumination is turned off.
Each vehicle equipped with an RKE keypad is programmed with a 5-digit entry code. This code is provided to the customer through a wallet card. In addition, this code is available through a diagnostic tool. When entering codes, each digit must be entered within 5 seconds of the previous button press.
