Principles Of Operation: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis and 2006 Ford Crown Victoria. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Do not use a key, pencil or any other hard object to press the remote keyless entry (RKE) keypad buttons. These objects may damage the RKE keypad buttons.
NOTE: Upon installation of a new driver door module (DDM), the module must be reconfigured. Refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .

The DDM receives inputs from the digital transmission range (TR) sensor, ignition switch, brake switch, door lock control switches, lighting control module (LCM), RKE keypad and RKE transmitter. The DDM outputs consist of RKE keypad illumination, door lock actuators, luggage compartment lid release solenoid, and the LCM.

For DDM removal and installation information, refer to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
