Normal Operation

Voltage is supplied to the PATS transceiver through the central junction box (CJB), circuit 1266 (RD/YE) and grounds on circuit 676 (PK/OG). The PATS transceiver communicates with the PATS key. During each vehicle start sequence, the PATS transceiver reads the PATS key identification code and transmits the data to the powertrain control module (PCM) through circuit 1215 (WH/LG). The PCM transmits data to the PATS transceiver through circuit 1216 (GY/OG). The PCM carries out all of the PATS functions such as receiving the identification code from the PATS key and controlling engine enable. The PCM initiates the key interrogation sequence when the key is turned to the ON or START position.
