Removal & Installation: G20: Removal

CAUTION: Ensure crankshaft position sensor is removed before separating transaxle from engine.
  1. Remove battery and bracket. Remove air duct. Disconnect transaxle solenoid and park/neutral position switch harness connectors. Disconnect revolution sensor harness connector. Disconnect and remove crankshaft position sensor from transaxle. Support engine with appropriate fixture.
  2. Drain transaxle. Disconnect shift control cable. Disconnect and plug oil cooler hoses. Remove drive axles. See appropriate article in DRIVE AXLES. Remove intake manifold support bracket. Remove starter.
  3. Remove upper bolts securing transaxle to engine. Support transaxle with appropriate jack. Remove center member. Remove drive plate cover. Mark drive plate in relation to torque converter for installation reference. Remove torque converter-to-drive plate bolts. Remove transaxle mounts. Remove remaining bellhousing bolts. Lower and remove transaxle from vehicle.
