Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the concern.
  2. Visually inspect the following for obvious signs of electrical damage.
    VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

    Electrical
    • Spotlamps
    • Package tray lamps
    • Rear flasher lamps
    • Front police auxiliary junction box (AJB) (located near RH kick panel) (non-fleet vehicles)
    • Police rear power relay (located in the battery junction box [BJB])
    • Wig-wag module (located on the RH side inner fender) (fleet vehicles)
    • Strobe lamp control module (located in the luggage compartment on the LH side of the communication service tray) (fleet vehicles)
    • Strobe lamps (located in the front and rear lamp assemblies) (fleet vehicles)
    • Rear deck light emitting diode (LED) flasher (located on either side of the high mounted stoplamp) (fleet vehicles)
    • Switch control panel (located on the console mounting platform) (fleet vehicles)
    • Police glove compartment relay/fuse center (located in the glove compartment) (fleet vehicles)
    • Police luggage compartment relay/fuse center (located in the luggage compartment on the rear LH side of the communication service tray) (fleet vehicles)
    • Police light bar relay/fuse center (located in the luggage compartment on the rear LH side of the communication service tray) (fleet vehicles)
    • BJB fuse(s):
      • 16 (25A) (package tray lamps)
      • 22 (20A) (police accessory connector)
      • 23 (20A) (police accessory connector)
      • 108 (20A) (spotlamps)
      • 111 (50A) (police accessory connector)
      • 112 (40A) (police power relay)
      • 113 (50A) (light bar system)
      • 114 (50A) (police accessory connector)
      • 115 (50A) (light bar system)
      • 116 (50A) (police accessory connector)
      • 117 (50A) (police accessory connector) (police power distribution box)
      • 118 (50A) (light bar system)
    • Central junction box (CJB) fuse(s):
      • 10 (5A) (police accessory connector)
      • 11 (10A) (police rear power relay coil)
    • In-line 10A (police power relay supply) (fleet vehicles)
    • Circuitry
  3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  4. Verify the headlamps, stoplamps, turn signals and hazard warning flasher lamps are operating correctly. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic procedures in this section, if necessary.
  5. NOTE: Aftermarket vehicle accessories are not covered. Only factory installed police package components are covered.
  6. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom. GO to SYMPTOM CHART .
