Removal and Installation

WARNING:
Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
- Disconnect the battery ground. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the throttle body (TB). For additional information, refer to THROTTLE BODY .
- Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.
- Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Disconnect the intake manifold-to-throttle body spacer vacuum hose.
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Remove the 5 TB spacer bolts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Remove the TB spacer and gasket.
- Discard the TB spacer gasket.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new gasket on the throttle body spacer.
