Test A: No Communication With Alternative Fuel Control Module

NOTE:
After performing any repair, clear DTCs and retest system.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect AFCM harness connector. AFCM is located in engine compartment on passenger side. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and AFCM harness connector terminals No. 2 and No. 11 (both White wires). See Fig 1. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open or short in appropriate White wire between AFCM and central junction box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and AFCM harness connector terminal No. 64 (Black wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair module communication concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - F150 PICKUP article. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
