DTC P0A02: Motor Electronics Coolant Temperature (MECT) Sensor Circuit Low

P0A02 - MOTOR ELECTRONICS COOLANT TEMPERATURE (MECT) SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW

Description:  A short to ground or signal return on the MECT circuit produces a low voltage (approximately 0 volt) to the PCM. A minimum of 100 mV difference exists between the short circuit voltage and a valid sensor reading at 150°C (302°F).
Possible Causes: 
  • Motor electronics cooling system issues.
  • Damaged MECT sensor.
  • MECT harness issues.
  • Damaged transaxle.
Diagnostic Aids  :
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
