Test J: No Communication With Natural Gas Vehicle Module

NOTE:
After repair, retest system.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect NGVM harness connector C1009. NGVM is located on center radiator support behind radiator. Measure voltage between ground and NGVM harness connector C1009 terminal No. 1 (Red/White wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open or short in Red/White wire between NGVM and central junction box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and NGVM harness connector C1009 terminal No. 37 (Red wire). Measure voltage between ground and NGVM harness connector C1009 terminal No. 57 (Red wire). See Figure. If each reading is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If either reading is 10 volts or less, repair open in appropriate Red wire between NGVM and battery junction box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and NGVM harness connector C1009 terminal No. 40 (Black/Yellow wire). Measure resistance between ground and NGVM harness connector C1009 terminal No. 60 (Black wire). If both resistances are 5 ohms or less, repair module communication concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - F150 PICKUP article. If either resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire(s) between NGVM and NGV timer. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
