Reassembly & Installation

NOTE:
Universal joint kits are to be installed as complete assemblies only. DO NOT mix components from other "U" joint kits.
- Install the "U" joint. Start a NEW bearing cup into the drive shaft yoke. Check the needle bearings for correct positioning. Position the NEW spider in the drive shaft yoke. Position the drive shaft in the "C" frame and screw clamp installer/remover.
- Press the bearing cup to just below the snap ring groove. Repeat for the other bearing cup. Inspect the drive shaft flange or slip yoke. Replace if necessary.
- Install the drive shaft flange/slip yoke. Start a NEW bearing cup into the drive shaft flange/slip yoke. Check the needle bearings for correct positioning.
- Position the drive shaft flange/slip yoke. Position the drive shaft in the "C" frame and screw clamp installer/remover. Press the bearing cup to just below the snap ring groove. Repeat for the other bearing cup.
- Remove the drive shaft from the "C" frame and screw clamp installer/remover and install the 4 snap rings. Check the "U" joints for freedom of movement. If binding, strike the flange/slip yoke with a brass or plastic hammer but DO NOT strike the bearings. Install the drive shaft. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
NOTE:
Use the Yellow snap rings supplied in the kit to assemble the "U" joint. If difficulty is encountered with the Yellow snap rings, install the Black snap rings
