Pinpoint Test E: The Wash And Wipe Function Are Inoperative

  1. E1 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202.
    • Carry out the multifunction switch component test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING for component testing.
    • Does the multifunction switch pass the component test? 
  2. E2 CHECK CIRCUIT 31-KA19 (BK/RD) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Measure the resistance between the multifunction switch C202-2, circuit 31-KA19 (BK/RD), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : GO to  E3.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. E3 CHECK CIRCUIT 8-KA7 (WH/VT) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: Windshield Wiper Motor C125.
    • Measure the resistance between the multifunction switch C202-5, circuit 8-KA7 (WH/VT), harness side and the windshield wiper motor C125-12, circuit 8-KA7 (WH/VT), harness side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : GO to PINPOINT TEST F  to diagnose the washer pump.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
