Removal and Installation

NOTE: The passenger side is shown, the driver side is similar.
  1. Remove the front door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the front door latch shield screw.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  3. Remove the front door latch shield nut.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  4. Remove the front door latch shield.
  5. If equipped, disconnect the lock cylinder actuating rod.
  6. Disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod.
  7. Remove the 3 front door latch screws.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
  8. Position the front door latch aside.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the front door latch.
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Lubricate the front door latch after it is installed.
