Auto Lock: Notes

The auto lock feature is controlled by the REM. This feature locks the doors whenever the vehicle is being driven. This feature uses inputs from the ignition switch, the digital transmission range (TR) selector, the brake pedal position (BPP) sensor, and the driver and passenger door ajar switch status. The autolock function works when the following conditions are concurrently met during the current ignition cycle:

• all the doors are closed
• the autolock function is active (this function has not been disabled through the message center or any programmable options)
• the ignition switch is in the RUN position
• the transmission is in any forward gear, or reverse
• the vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h (3 mph)

  The auto locks are activated again if at least one door has been opened and closed since the last auto lock function and the following conditions are met:

• the autolock function is active (this function has not been disabled through the message center or any programmable options)
• the ignition switch is in the RUN position
• the transmission is in any forward gear, or reverse
• the vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h (3 mph)
• all the doors are closed
