Delayed Accessory: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The delayed accessory feature allows the power windows, radio and roof opening panel (if equipped) to function for up to ten minutes after the ignition is turned OFF or until any door is opened. The delayed accessory function is controlled by the DDM. When the ignition switch is turned from ON to OFF, the DDM begins the timing sequence. If a door is opened, the FEM or the REM (the FEM monitors the front door ajar switches and the REM monitors the rear door ajar switches) sends a signal to the DDM over the SCP network, and the DDM turns off the accessory delay function. If the ignition switch is turned to another position, the DDM will also cancel the delayed accessory function.
