Seat Side Air Bag or Seat Side Thorax Air Bag

Driver and passenger seat side air bags or seat side thorax air bag are attached to the seat backrest frame. For diagnostic information or if the seat side air bag or seat side thorax air bag has been deployed, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
The front seat backrest trim covers cannot be repaired. If the front seat backrest covers need to be repaired, a new cover must be installed. Cleaning the front seat backrest cover is permissible.
If a seat side air bag or seat side thorax air bag deployment took place, a new seat back pad, trim cover and side air bag module must be installed. Install a new seat backrest frame if necessary.
