Pinpoint Test Aa: The Reversing Lamps Are On Continuously

- AA1 CHECK THE REVERSING LAMPS
- Key in ON position.
- Observe the reversing lamps.
- Are both reversing lamps illuminated?
- AA2 CHECK THE PCM
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: PCM C175a.
- Key in ON position.
- Do the reversing lamps continue to illuminate?
- AA3 CHECK PCM OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect all PCM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all PCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS . TEST the system for Normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. REPEAT the self-test.
- AA4 CHECK THE REM
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: REM C420e.
- Key in ON position.
- Does the reversing lamp continue to illuminate?
- Yes : REPAIR circuit 31S-LG9 (BK/GN) (LH reversing lamp) or 31S-LG16 (BK/RD) (RH reversing lamp) as necessary. TEST the system for Normal operation.
- No : GO to AA5.
- AA5 CHECK REM OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect all REM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all REM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new REM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for Normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. REPEAT the self-test.
