Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the engine air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Drain the engine coolant. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose.
- Release the auxiliary coolant flow pump-to-engine hose clamp and disconnect the hose.
- Release the auxiliary coolant flow pump-to-heater hose and tube assembly hose clamp and disconnect the hose.
- Disconnect the auxiliary coolant flow pump electrical connector.
- Remove the 2 auxiliary coolant flow pump bolts.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Remove the auxiliary coolant flow pump.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Clean and lubricate the coolant hoses with plain water only, if needed.
- Fill the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
