Removal and Installation

- Remove the center console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
- Remove the PRNDL indicator bulb from the electrical connector.
- Rotate the shifter bezel.
- Disconnect the cable from the lever.
- Remove the shift interlock cable from the bracket.
- Disconnect the cable from the lever.
- Remove the lower steering column cover push pins.
- Remove the instrument panel steering column cover.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Position the hood release cable and bracket aside.
- Remove the screws.
- Position the hood release cable and bracket aside.
- Remove the lower reinforcement panel.
- Remove the inner instrument panel finish panel.
- Remove the outer instrument panel finish panel.
- Disconnect the power mirror switch.
- Remove the inner trim support panel.
- Remove the ignition switch.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the ignition switch.
- Remove two screws for the shift lock actuator cable.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake shift interlock actuator cable.
- Remove the cable from the bracket and remove the cable.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
If equipped with the traction control switch, the switch will need to be disconnected prior to removing the center console.
