Removal and Installation

    NOTE: If equipped with the traction control switch, the switch will need to be disconnected prior to removing the center console.
  1. Remove the center console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
  2. Remove the PRNDL indicator bulb from the electrical connector.

  3. Rotate the shifter bezel.

  4. Disconnect the cable from the lever.
    1. Remove the shift interlock cable from the bracket.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the lever.

  5. Remove the lower steering column cover push pins.

  6. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover.

  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  8. Position the hood release cable and bracket aside.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Position the hood release cable and bracket aside.

  9. Remove the lower reinforcement panel.

  10. Remove the inner instrument panel finish panel.

  11. Remove the outer instrument panel finish panel.

  12. Disconnect the power mirror switch.

  13. Remove the inner trim support panel.

  14. Remove the ignition switch.
    • Remove the screws.
    • Remove the ignition switch.

  15. Remove two screws for the shift lock actuator cable.
    • To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

  16. Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake shift interlock actuator cable.

  17. Remove the cable from the bracket and remove the cable.

  18. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
