Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Installation

Tube installation, vehicle with V8 engine
NOTE:
Proceed to Hose installation
if the transmission fluid cooler tubes were not removed from the vehicle.
- Position the transmission fluid cooler tubes and the fluid cooler tube bracket, and install the nut.
Tube installation, vehicle with V6 engine
NOTE: Proceed to Hose installation if the transmission fluid cooler tubes were not removed from the vehicle. - Position the transmission fluid cooler tubes and the fluid cooler tube bracket, and install the nut.
Connecting the tubes
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission.
- Proceed to Connecting the hose(s) if the transmission fluid cooler hoses were not removed from the vehicle. Otherwise, proceed as follows.
Hose installation
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler hose(s) to the cooler.
- Position the clamp on the transmission fluid cooler hose.
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler hose to the cooler.
- Using the special tool, tighten the clamp.
- Repeat this step for the other hose clamp, if removed.
Connecting the hose(s)
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler hose to the transmission fluid cooler tube.
- Position the clamp.
- Push the transmission fluid cooler hose onto the transmission fluid cooler tube until it is bottomed against the stop.
- Tighten the clamp.

Final assembly
- If removed, install the fluid cooler tube routing bracket.
- If removed, install the A/C condenser core. For additional information, refer to AIR CONDITIONING .
- Install the LH splash shield and the bolts.
- Install LH splash shield pushpin.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Fill the automatic transmission and leak check the cooling system. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - 5R55S .
