Removal and Installation

  1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING  .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  3. Remove the 2 thermostat housing retaining bolts and separate the upper and lower thermostat housing.
    • To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
  4. Remove the thermostat and the thermostat O-ring.
    • Inspect the thermostat O-ring and install a new O-ring if necessary.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  6. Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING  .
