Exhaust Manifold - RH: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the catalytic converters. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
  3. Remove the fresh air inlet duct. For additional information, refer to AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  4. Remove the 2 EGR tube flange nuts.
  5. Remove the starter motor. For additional information, refer to STARTING SYSTEM .
  6. Remove the screws and the lower RH splash shield.

  7. Remove the 4 bolts and the heat shield.
  8. Remove the 8 nuts and the exhaust manifold.
    • Discard the nuts.
  9. Remove the heat shield stud bolt.
    • Discard the exhaust manifold and EGR tube gaskets.
  10. Remove the 8 exhaust manifold studs and discard.
  11. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
