Oil Cooler: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  3. Remove the LH exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD - LH  in this article .
  4. Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses.
  5. CAUTION: If metal or aluminum foreign material is present in the oil cooler, mechanical concerns exist. To diagnose mechanical concerns, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  6. Remove the bolt and the oil cooler.
    • Inspect the oil cooler.
