Exhaust Manifold - RH: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. Remove the RH lower splash shield.
  4. Remove the 2 catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts and position the catalytic converter aside.
  5. Remove the 3 bolts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.
  6. Remove the 6 nuts and the exhaust manifold.
    • Discard the nuts.
    • Remove and discard the gasket.
  7. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  8. Remove the 6 exhaust manifold studs and discard.
