Exhaust Manifold - LH: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the LH lower splash shield.
  3. Disconnect the RH heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.

  4. Disconnect the RH catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.

  5. NOTE: Loosening the 2 Torca® clamp nuts will ease the removal of the RH catalytic converter.

  6. Loosen the 2 Torca® clamp nuts.
  7. Remove the 2 RH catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts and remove the RH catalytic converter.
  8. Remove the 3 bolts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.
  9. Remove the 6 nuts and the exhaust manifold.
    • Discard the nuts.
    • Remove and discard the gasket.
  10. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  11. Remove the 6 exhaust manifold studs and discard.
