Power Steering Pump: Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Install the pump and the 2 upper pump bolts.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  2. 3.9L engines 

  3. Install the 2 radiator hose tube-to-engine bolts.
    • Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  4. All vehicles 

  5. Using the special tool, install a new Teflon® seal on the pressure line fitting.

  6. Install the pressure line fitting.
    • Tighten to 33 Nm (24 lb-ft).
  7. Install the 2 lower pump bolts.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  8. Install the reservoir-to-pump supply hose and connect the clamp.
  9. 3.9L engines 

  10. Install the air conditioning compressor and the 4 bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  11. Install the power steering line retainer bracket and bolt.
    • Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  12. Connect the air conditioning compressor electrical connector.
  13. All vehicles 

  14. Rotate the tensioner and install the engine accessory drive belt on the power steering pump pulley.
  15. Install the LH front frame rail deflector shields.
  16. Install the air cleaner outlet tube and the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  17. Install the engine appearance cover.
  18. Fill the power steering system. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
