Removal and Installation

CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can result.
  1. Using a suitable suction device, drain the fluid reservoir.
  2. Loosen the upper reservoir isolator bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).
  3. Loosen the lower reservoir isolator bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  4. Disconnect the cooler-to-reservoir return hose clamp and remove the hose.
  5. Disconnect the reservoir-to-pump supply hose clamp and remove the hose.
  6. Lift the fluid reservoir upward off the isolators.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
