Removal and Installation

NOTE: The adjustable pedal assembly is shown; the fixed pedal assembly is similar.
  1. Remove the steering column. For additional information, refer to STEERING COLUMN .
  2. Remove the speed control deactivator switch. For additional information, refer to SPEED CONTROL .
  3. Remove the stoplamp switch. For additional information, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
  4. Remove the 2 switch bracket screws and position the switch bracket aside.
  5. Remove the self-locking clip from the brake booster rod pin.
  6. Remove the brake booster rod pin from the brake booster rod.
  7. Position the brake pedal booster rod and bushing off the brake pedal.
  8. If equipped with adjustable pedals, disconnect the adjustable pedal motor electrical connector.
  9. Remove the 4 brake booster nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
  10. Remove the 2 upper brake pedal bracket bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
  11. Remove the brake pedal and bracket assembly from the vehicle.
  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
