Adjustable Pedal Indexing

CAUTION:
The adjustable pedal system must be indexed whenever the brake pedal assembly or accelerator pedal assembly is serviced.
- Make sure the electrical connector is connected to the adjustable pedal motor.
- Operate the adjustable pedal to the full forward position. If the adjustable accelerator pedal bottoms before the adjustable brake pedal, operate both adjustable pedals full rearward.
- Remove the tie-strap, if necessary, and disconnect the drive cable assembly from the adjustable brake pedal drive. Continue to operate the adjustable accelerator pedal to the full rearward position.
- Connect the drive cable assembly to the adjustable brake pedal drive.
- Operate both the adjustable pedals to the full forward position.
- If the adjustable brake pedal bottoms before the adjustable accelerator pedal, remove the tie-strap, if necessary, and disconnect the adjustable brake pedal drive cable.
- Operate the accelerator pedal to the full forward position.
- Connect the drive cable assembly to the adjustable brake pedal drive.
- Operate both the adjustable pedals to the full forward position.
- Check that the adjustable brake pedal and adjustable accelerator pedal can be adjusted fully forward, fully rearward, and they hit the forward and rearward stops at the same time.
NOTE:
A new adjustable brake pedal or adjustable accelerator pedal assembly will be in the full forward (towards the front of the vehicle) position.
