Pinpoint Test H: DTCS C1801, C1802 AND C1803: EPB ACTUATOR APPLY/RELEASE FAULTS

H1 CHECK THE LH AND RH PARKING BRAKE CABLE AND CONDUIT
- Check the parking brake cable and conduit for binding, damage, stretching, and correct routing. For correct parking brake cable routing, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE in this article .
- Check that the correct parking brake cables are installed on the correct side of the vehicle.
- Are the parking brake cables OK
- Yes : GO to H2.
- No : REPAIR or INSTALL new parking brake components as necessary. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. RESET the parking brake system. REFER to ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) RESETTING in this article .
H2 CHECK THE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER LEVERS
- Inspect the brake caliper. Be sure that there is no corrosion, dirt, or damage that could cause the rear disc brake caliper to bind.
- Is the rear disc brake caliper OK
- Yes : INSTALL a new EPB actuator. REFER to PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR in this article . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. RESET the EPB system. REFER to ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) RESETTING in this article .
- No : INSTALL a new rear disc brake caliper. REFER to REAR DISC BRAKE . CLEAR the DTC(s). REPEAT the self-test. RESET the EPB system. REFER to ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) RESETTING in this article .
