Pinpoint Test D: C1784: ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) MOTOR OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

CAUTION:
Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
- D1 CHECK CIRCUIT 32-CG19 (WH/VT) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect the battery. Refer to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Disconnect: EPB Module C4205a.
- Measure the resistance between the EPB module C4205a-3 circuit 32-CG19 (WH/VT), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms
- Yes : GO to D2.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. RESET the EPB system. REFER to ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) RESETTING in this article .
- D2 CHECK CIRCUIT 33-CG19 (YE/VT) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure the resistance between the EPB module C4205a-2, circuit 33-CG19 (YE/VT), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms
- Yes : INSTALL a new EPB module. REFER to PARKING BRAKE MODULE in this article . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. RESET the EPB system. REFER to ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) RESETTING in this article .
- No : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. RESET the EPB system. REFER to ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) RESETTING in this article .
