Stub Shaft Pilot Bearing and Seal: Installation

  1. Lubricate the lip of the inboard CV joint stub shaft pilot bearing housing seal with grease. Place the inboard CV joint stub shaft pilot bearing housing seal onto the special tools.

  2. CAUTION: Installation of the inboard CV joint stub shaft pilot bearing housing seal without the correct tool can result in early inboard CV joint stub shaft pilot bearing housing seal failure. If the inboard CV joint stub shaft pilot bearing housing seal becomes cocked during installation, remove it and install a new one.
  3. Carefully align the inboard CV joint stub shaft pilot bearing housing seal with the housing bore, then install the inboard CV joint stub shaft pilot bearing housing seal.
