Removal and Installation

- Remove the tail lamp assemblies.
- Remove the bumper cover pin-type retainers.
- Disconnect the rear parking aid sensor electrical connector.
- If equipped, remove the side marker lamp electrical connector.
- Remove the 8 inner bumper cover screws.
- Remove the rear bumper cover.
- Lift the corner of the rear bumper cover and pull away.
- Repeat on the opposite side.
- Transfer components as necessary.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
The Mountaineer rear bumper cover has clips located at the upper edge of the moulding that attach to the sheet metal.
