Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Position the watershield aside.
  3. Disconnect the liftgate window latch actuating cable.
  4. Remove the 3 liftgate latch remote control screws.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
  5. Position the liftgate latch remote control aside.
  6. Disconnect the liftgate ajar switch electrical connectors.
  7. Remove the 4 screws and the liftgate window latch.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Lubricate the liftgate window latch after installation.
