Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Position the watershield aside.
  3. Disconnect the liftgate latch actuating cable.
  4. Remove the 3 liftgate latch screws.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
  5. Disconnect the liftgate ajar switch electrical connector and remove the liftgate latch.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Lubricate the liftgate latch after installation.
