Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in PARK, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the screws and the lower steering column opening finish panel.

  3. Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.

  4. Remove the screw retaining the upper steering column shroud to the steering column.

  5. Remove the upper steering column shroud.

  6. CAUTION: Install a new transmission selector lever pin when installing the transmission selector lever.
  7. Remove the transmission selector lever.
    1. Disconnect the transmission control switch (TCS) electrical connector.
    2. Remove and discard the transmission selector lever pin.
    3. Remove the transmission selector lever.

  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Verify the TCS operation.
