Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in PARK, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the screws and the lower steering column opening finish panel.
- Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.
- Remove the screw retaining the upper steering column shroud to the steering column.
- Remove the upper steering column shroud.
- Remove the transmission selector lever.
- Disconnect the transmission control switch (TCS) electrical connector.
- Remove and discard the transmission selector lever pin.
- Remove the transmission selector lever.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Verify the TCS operation.
CAUTION:
Install a new transmission selector lever pin when installing the transmission selector lever.
