Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor - 4.6L (2V): Removal

Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
Using the special tool, remove the power steering pump pulley.

Remove the nuts and position the wiring harness bracket and ground cable aside.

Remove the power steering pump stud bolts.
Remove the nut and detach the power steering hose bracket.

Disconnect the power steering pressure hose fitting and remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Drain the fluid into a suitable container.

Remove the bolt and position the power steering pump aside.
Remove the nut and position the radio interference capacitor and the power steering fluid reservoir and bracket aside.

Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor.
