Pinpoint Test M: The STOPLAMPS Are On Continuously

- M1 CHECK THE STOPLAMP SWITCH
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Stoplamp Switch C278.
- Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate?
- Yes : GO to M2.
- No : INSTALL a new stoplamp switch. REFER to STOPLAMP SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
- M2 CHECK CIRCUITS 511 (LG) AND 569 (DG) FOR SHORT TO POWER
- Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202b.
- Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate?
- Yes
: For the high mounted stoplamp, REPAIR circuit 511 (LG) or 569 (DG) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
For rear stoplamp, REPAIR circuit 374 (DB/WH) (LH stoplamp) or 378 (BN/YE) (RH stoplamp) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation.
