Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the master cylinder. For additional information, refer to HYDRAULIC BRAKE ACTUATION .
  2. Disconnect the brake booster solenoid electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the brake booster transducer electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the electrical harness connector bracket from the brake booster housing,
  5. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.
  6. Remove the redundant self-locking pin cover and the self-locking pin.
  7. Position the brake stoplamp switch aside.
  8. Remove the brake stoplamp switch bushing, spacer and the brake booster push rod.
  9. NOTE: Use new nuts when installing the brake booster.
  10. Remove the brake booster nuts and the booster.
    • To install, tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
