Removal and Installation

  1. Release the parking brake cable tension. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE TENSION RELEASE .
  2. Disconnect the intermediate parking brake cable from the RH rear parking brake cable at the parking brake cable equalizer.
  3. Disconnect the front of the RH parking brake cable conduit at the frame bracket.
  4. Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt from the top of the crossmember.
    • To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
  5. Remove the wire from retainer bolt from the lower arm.
    • To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
  6. Disconnect the RH parking brake cable from the parking brake levers and remove the parking brake cable from the vehicle.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Test the parking brake system for correct operation.
