Removal and Installation

- Release the parking brake cable tension. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE TENSION RELEASE .
- Disconnect the intermediate parking brake cable from the RH rear parking brake cable at the parking brake cable equalizer.
- Disconnect the front of the RH parking brake cable conduit at the frame bracket.
- Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt from the top of the crossmember.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
- Remove the wire from retainer bolt from the lower arm.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
- Disconnect the RH parking brake cable from the parking brake levers and remove the parking brake cable from the vehicle.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Test the parking brake system for correct operation.
