Extension Housing Gasket - 4x4: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.
  3. Remove the transfer case. For additional information, refer to TRANSFER CASE - ELECTRONIC SHIFT .
    4. CAUTION: The parking pawl, parking pawl return spring and parking pawl shaft could fall out during removal of the extension housing.

  4. Remove the extension housing.
  5. Remove and discard the extension housing gasket.
