Extension Housing Gasket - 4x2: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT .
  3. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.
  4. Remove the transmission support insulator nuts.

  5. Remove the bolts from the transmission support insulator.

  6. Raise the transmission and remove the transmission support insulator.

  7. CAUTION: The parking pawl, parking pawl return spring and parking pawl shaft could fall out during removal of the extension housing.

  8. Remove the extension housing.
  9. Remove and discard the extension housing gasket.
