Disassembly and Assembly

  1. Remove the 2 compression rings, the 2 oil control rings and the oil control spacer.
  2. Remove the piston pin retainers and the piston pin.
  3. Remove the piston from the connecting rod.
    4. NOTE: Lubricate all of the components with clean engine oil.
    NOTE: The connecting rod must be installed into the piston with identification markings toward the front.

  4. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
