Rear Brake Pads: Removal

- Check the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir.
- If required, remove fluid until the brake master cylinder reservoir is half full.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the 2 brake caliper bolts and position the caliper aside.
- Remove the pads and spring clips.
- Discard the spring clips.
CAUTION:
Do not pry in caliper sight hole to retract pistons as this can damage the pistons and boots.
CAUTION:
Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the flexible hose. Us a suitable tool to support the brake caliper.
CAUTION:
Install a new pad if it is worn past the specification.
