Removal and Installation

- Remove the rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to BUMPERS .
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Disconnect the parking aid sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the parking aid sensor(s).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Paint the sensor(s) with one coat of paint (basecoat and clear coat).
- Using the diagnostic tool, verify that the parking aid sensor PIDs read no object present, and that the parking aid sensor attenuation PIDs read between 0.8 - 1.6 ms. If the parking aid sensor attenuation PIDs do not read between 0.8 - 1.6 ms, the paint is too thick on the sensor(s) and it will be necessary to repaint the sensor(s) as required.
