Pinpoint Test J: DTC B1065 Radio Volume Cutback Circuit Short to Battery, B1066 Radio Volume Cutback Circuit Failure: Testing

- J1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTC FROM BOTH THE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND PARKING AID MODULE SELF-TESTS
- Retrieve the recorded parking aid module DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC B1065, GO to J2.
For DTC B1066, GO to J3.
All others, REFER to the PARKING AID MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INDEX .
- No : GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
- J2 CHECK CIRCUIT 689 (DB) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Parking Aid Module C3267.
- Measure the voltage between the parking aid module C3267-7, circuit 689 (DB), harness side and ground.
- Is any voltage present?
- Yes : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- No : GO to J5.
- J3 CHECK CIRCUIT 689 (DB) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Audio Unit C240a.
- Measure the resistance between the parking aid module C3267-7, circuit 689 (DB), harness side and the audio unit C240a-20, circuit 689 (DB), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to J4.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- J4 CHECK CIRCUIT 689 (DB) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure the resistance between the parking aid module C3267-7, circuit 689 (DB), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
- Yes : GO to J5.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- J5 CHECK FOR CORRECT PARKING AID MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect the parking aid module connector.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect the parking aid module connector and make sure it seats correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new parking aid module. REFER to PARKING AID MODULE . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. CARRY OUT the diagnostic tool data link test.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
