Floor Duct: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable and wait at least one minute. Remove floor console. See FLOOR CONSOLE .
  2. Remove pin-type retainers, release expander clip and remove floor duct panel. See Fig 1. Remove nut, bolt and remove right instrument panel brace. See Fig 2. Remove left instrument panel lower nut and position brace aside. See Fig 3.
  3. Disconnect Restraints Control Module (RCM) electrical connector. See Fig 4. Remove bracket retaining bolts. Remove RCM and bracket assembly. See Fig 5.
  4. On vehicles equipped with rear airflow duct, fold back carpet. Cut rear seat airflow duct along both sides. See Fig 6. Fold air duct rearwards. See Fig 7. On all vehicles, remove 2 screws (one each side). Remove floor duct. See Fig 8.
